Privacy policy

The short version: the generator runs in your browser, your text is never sent anywhere, and there are no accounts to create.

The text you type

Everything the generator does happens in your browser using JavaScript loaded with the page. What you type is never transmitted to a server, never written to a database, and never logged. Once you close the tab it is gone.

This is a consequence of how the site is built rather than a policy we could quietly change. The site is a set of static files. There is no backend to receive your input.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own. Google Analytics, described below, sets its own cookies to tell repeat visits apart from new ones. Those are the only cookies on the site.

If you would rather not be counted, blocking cookies for this domain or using a browser extension that blocks Google Analytics stops it entirely. The generator keeps working exactly the same either way, because the tool and the analytics have nothing to do with each other.

Browser storage

The generator does not write to local storage or session storage. Your settings are not remembered between visits, which is deliberate: it keeps the tool predictable and keeps us out of your browser storage.

Server logs

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes standard request data in order to serve pages and protect against abuse. That can include your IP address, the page requested, your browser's user agent string and the time of the request.

We do not have access to an identifiable log of your browsing on this site, and we do not combine request data with anything else. Cloudflare's handling of this data is covered by its own privacy policy.

Analytics

This site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It is the only third-party script on the site. There are no advertising tags, no embedded widgets and no social media pixels.

What Google Analytics receives is the ordinary page-view information: which page you opened, roughly where in the world you are, your device and browser type, and how you arrived. Google truncates IP addresses before storing them.

Two of its features are switched off deliberately in the site's configuration: allow_google_signals and allow_ad_personalization_signals. That means your visit is not used to build an advertising profile or to follow you to other sites. This site runs no ads and has no use for either.

What it never sees is the thing you came here to do. The text you type into the generator is processed in your browser and is not sent to Google, to us, or to anyone else. Analytics counts that you opened a page. It has no idea what you typed on it.

Google's own handling of this data is covered by the Google privacy policy. You can opt out across every site that uses it with Google's browser opt-out add-on.

External links

Some pages link to other sites, such as Wikipedia and the Unicode Consortium, as sources. Following a link takes you to a site with its own privacy practices, which we do not control.

Children

There are no accounts, no sign-up forms and no submissions of any kind, so nothing is ever asked of a visitor of any age. The only data collected is the anonymous page-view information described above, with advertising features switched off.

Your rights

Data protection rules such as the GDPR and the CCPA give you rights to access, correct and delete personal data held about you.

We hold no database of our own, so there is nothing here to retrieve or erase. The one place data about your visit exists is the Google Analytics property described above, and the quickest way to remove yourself from it is Google's opt-out add-on or a cookie block on this domain. If you want a request handled directly, write to us and we will answer honestly about what can and cannot be done.

We do not sell or share personal information, and there is nothing collected here that could be sold.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. Material changes, such as introducing analytics, will be described plainly rather than buried in a rewrite.
